Turn on WiFi Hotspot Broadcast for HTC One M8

Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how you can make your HTC One M8 a portable WiFi hotspot.
Steps
- 1To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone.
- 2Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the Lock screen.
- 3To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down, until the lock/unlock icon displays, and then swipe up.
- 4Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the Home screen and at the bottom there will be some icons.
- 5Press down at the top of the screen, hold down and swipe down.We need to find the Settings menu and to do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down.
- 6We can see that there is a white cog icon, this is our Settings icon.We can see that the Notification panel has appeared and we are looking for the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- 7Press down on the white cog icon, and it will open up our "Settings" menu, which we can see says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
- 8Underneath the word "Settings" it says the words "WIRELESS & NETWORKS" in this gray bar, this is the section we want to be in.
- 9Press down on this section.We want the option right at the bottom, it says "More", and underneath it says "Data usage, HTC Mini +, NFC...", with an icon next to them that looks like three gray dots in a horizontal line.
- 10Once we're there, we're looking for the option, "Mobile network sharing", and we'll press down on that.
- 11What we're going to show in this video is how to make our HTC One M8 a portable WiFi hotspot, which that means is that we can make our phone a hotspot and connect our computer to it, allowing us to use the Internet on our computer through our phone. It's a very useful feature, and one that we can show how to do now. We can add and use up to five devices on our WiFi hotspot when we're creating a portable WiFi hotspot. To do this then, all we need to do is to turn the option on. We can see that there is an icon on the right-hand side of the phone, and right now it says the word "Off".We can see that the first option says, "Portable WiFi hotspot".
- 12If we press down on that icon, it's now going to turn the function "On", we can see that now it says the word "On", and there is the green part of the icon that appears.
- 13We can see it says, "Portable hotspot HTC Portable Hotspot 2489 active".
- 14After the Portable WiFi Hotspot is started on this phone, your PC can connect to it and then start using the Internet."Press down on this option and it will tell us this information, "Portable WiFi Hotspot can share this phone's Internet connection with your PC via WiFi.
- 15Press down on "OK" and there we go.
- 16If we want to turn this function off, and it's good to do that because we only want to turn it on when we're actually using it. It does use a lot of battery life, so make sure this is turned off when this function isn't being used.We can see that it's very simple and we can now connect via WiFi, we can connect to our phone with our computer, in order to use the Internet.
- 17Press down on the icon at the top, on the word "On" and it will just turn it off.
