Turn a Mason Jar into a Planter
Edited by Doug Collins, Eng, Inukshuk
I would like to thank Sofia Date for the awesome video on how to DIY reusing a Mason Jar. I organized it into a wiki for anyone with a hearing impairment, or for those who just prefer to read the steps. Hope you enjoy it. :)
Hi. Today I'm going to show you one way to use a jar as a terrarium.
Steps
1
I am using succulent plants and they don't require a lot of attention
.
2
There are so many different kinds
.
3
I am using these four little ones, there are various types but generally known as Miniature Succulent Plants
.
These look a lot smaller.
4
You're going to need a Jar of your choice, Succulent plants, Soil, Moss, Pebbles and some time
.
5
6
Your first layer is going to be your Pebbles
.
7
You're just going to plop these into your jar at the very first bottom base, and then once you're done pop them down
.
8
Your second layer is going to be your Moss, I'm using a Spanish Moss, I don't really know if it makes any difference, but this is extremely hard to put a part
.
So I am going to be stuffing that as a second layer.
9
Layer number three is your soil
.
10
Now it time for planting the plant
.
11
When planting the plant you have to be extremely delicate
.
12
13
I am a kind of just separating and gently pushing away the soil after taking it out of the container
.
14
Also, make a hole to it the soil put it into the jar and paving down the soil around it
.
15
After deciding where to put the plant inside put in some Pebbles on the top
.
16
Just to give it more clean effect
.
17
Now, wipe away all your problems
.
Bye.
