Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to turn on or off the option to play sounds when locking and unlocking the screen of an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located at the top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen

   Hold down, and swipe up.

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen

   At the bottom, there will be icons.

   Now, we need to find the "Settings" menu

   To do that, we swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.

   Now we can see that the notification panel has appeared

   Here, is the icon we're looking for. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon. This is our settings icon.

   Press down on it, and it'll take us to our "Settings menu"

   We can see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

   Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section

   In this section, we are looking for the option named, "Sound & Notification"

   It has a speaker icon with sound waves emanating from it. Press down on the words "Sound & Notification".

   Now that we're in the "Sound & Notification" menu, let's scroll down until we get to the section called "SYSTEM"

   It is located here in a grey bar.

    We want the option called "Screen lock sounds, Play sounds when locking and unlocking the screen"

    .

    When we lock or unlock the screen, we'll hear a noise. It will play a very quiet sound. It does take up some battery and is not a necessary setting. This is why the default setting is off. It may help confirm that the phone is locking or unlocking. It may be useful for some people.

    To turn it on, we are going to press the box on the far right of the screen, here

    Press down on the box and a white check, inside of a green box, will appear

    Now when we lock or unlock our phone, we will hear a noise. If we press down on the power button, we can hear a very slight noise. Turn it on again, and swipe to unlock. We can hear a very faint hiss. It doesn't make very much impact, so the default setting is off. We can activate it if we choose.

    To turn the option off, press down on the box, so that the check disappears, and the box turns white
