Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to turn on or off the option to play sounds when refreshing feeds and content on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen. Hold down, and then swipe up.

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen and these icons at the bottom of the screen

   We need to find the "Settings" menu

   .

   We need to swipe the notification panel down. Press down at the top of the screen. Hold down, and swipe down. This will bring up our notification panel.

   In this area, we need to find the icon located in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   It looks like a white cog icon. This is our settings icon.

   Press down on it, and our "Settings" menu will open

   Let's scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section here, in the grey bar

   Under "PHONE", we're looking for "Sound & notification"

   .

   There is an icon with a speaker, and some sound waves emanating from it. Press down on this option. It will bring us to the sound and notification menu.

   Now, scroll down until we get to the "SYSTEM" section

   .

   It should say "SYSTEM" in a grey bar.

    We want the option named "Pull-to-refresh sounds

    .

    Play sounds when refreshing feeds and content". The refresh functions update the content of a feed. When we press down, or pull down on the screen, it will update the feed. It'll make a rattle noise. This is the sound that we'll be editing. As we can see, this option is turned on. It has the white check inside of the green square.

    If we want to turn this option off, press down on the box until the check disappears, and the box turns white

    We can turn this option off, because it is an unnecessary option and takes up battery. The default setting is set to activated, but it isn't essential. We'll see, with our own eyes, if something needs refreshing or not.
