Edited by Thor, Ash0hley, Jen M
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to turn on or off the option to play the touch sounds when making screen selections on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen
.
Hold down, and swipe up.
3
Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen
.
At the bottom, there will be icons.
4
Now, we need to find the settings icon, for the "Settings" menu
.
To do that, we swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.
5
We can see that the notification panel has appeared
.
Here, is the icon we're looking for. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon.
6
This is our settings icon
.
Press down on it, and it'll open up our "Settings menu". We can see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
7
Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section
.
It says the word "PHONE" in a grey bar.
8
We want the option called "Sound & Notification"
.
Beside the words is an icon that looks like a speaker with some sound waves emanating from it. Press down on this option, "Sound & Notification", and it will take us into the "Sound & Notification" menu.
9
Scroll down until we get to this section with the word "SYSTEM" inside of a grey bar
.
10
In this video, we're going to learn how to turn on or off the option to play touch sounds when making screen selections
.
We can see that this option is here, "Touch sounds. Play sounds when making screen selection." This is going to make noises when we press down on the screen. When we make a choice on the screen, it's going to make a noise. This can take a bit of battery. We don't necessarily need it. It can be quite irritating to other people, but we may like it. It may be useful for us.
11
If we want to turn this setting on, then press down on this box here
.
It'll put a check mark in it.
12
Now there is a white check inside of a green box
.
We can touch another option to test the sound. It is a very quiet sound, even with the volume all the way up. It sounds like a quiet click.
13
If we want this option off, just press down on the box again, until the check mark is gone, and the box is white
.
Now the selection is deactivated.
14
This then, concludes our tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to play touch sounds when making screen selections on an HTC One M8
.
