Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to turn Sleep Mode on or off on a HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button

   This button is located on the top, right-hand side of the phone. Once the phone has been activated, you will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen, hold, and swipe up

   We now need to access the Settings menu

   .

   When the phone was unlocked it took us to the Home screen, from here we need to find the Settings menu. To do this, we can press down at the very top of the screen, and swipe downwards. This will bring up our notifications panel.

   Press down on the settings icon

   It is located in the top, right-hand corner of the screen and is represented by a small, white, cog icon. After it is pressed, the Settings menu will open.

   Once the Settings menu has opened, we need to scroll down until we find the 'Phone' section

   The section is represented by the word 'Phone' inside of a gray bar.

   Scroll down further until you find the 'Power' section

   You will see the word 'Power', next to it will be power icon which is shown as a battery with a white lightening bolt inside of it.

   Press down on the word 'Power'

   This will take us into the Power options.

   Now we will scroll down to the bottom of the menu to find the option labeled 'Sleep mode'

   .

   It will say 'Turn off data connection during long periods of inactivity' underneath. There will be a small box with the word 'OK' written to the right of this option.

   When the box is pressed and the mode is activated, it will turn off your phone data when the phone is not being used

   .

   If you would like to have this feature turned on, the icon to the right with the word 'OK' in it needs to appear as a grey box partially covered in green, as shown in the picture above. If this mode is turned off, the icon will be a faded grey color with no partial green cover, as shown in the picture below. Whatever you desire, you can customize this choice by pressing down on this icon.
