Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn on and off Photo Syncing in Facebook on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards
.
4
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see several icons
.
It is one of these icons that we now need to access, as we need to open the Applications folder.
5
To do that, we can use the icon in the middle at the bottom of the screen
.
It is a grid made up of white dots.
6
Press down on that icon, and it will open the "Apps" folder
.
7
In this folder, we now need to find the "Facebook" application
.
It has the "Facebook" icon, which is a blue tile with a white "f" on top. Underneath, it says the word "Facebook".
8
Press down on that icon, and it will open up the application
.
9
We now need to find the Settings menu, and to do that we need the icon on the far right-hand side of the screen in the white bar
.
There are three gray horizontal lines. The icon is a little faint but should still be visible.
10
Press down on the icon, and it will open a menu
.
11
We want the second option that says "App Settings"
.
Next to that is a gray circle with a white cog icon inside. Press down on that section.
12
On the next menu, scroll down to find "Photo Syncing"
.
Underneath that it says the word "Off", indicating that this option is deactivated.
13
Press down on that section to open it
.
14
We can see three options at the top of the screen under "Device Settings"
.
What photo syncing means is that when we take photos on the HTC One M8, it will automatically sync those photos with Facebook. It will put them on Facebook. It won't actually publish them. They will be secret, but they will be on Facebook. Then we can choose if we want to publish the photos. However, they will be synced, so they will be on Facebook. Keep that in mind. Any photo taken will be on Facebook, whether we want it to be there or not. It won't show it to people, but it will be on there.
15
Currently, the option is deactivated, as there is a check mark next to "Don't sync my photos"
.
16
However, if we do want our photos to be synced with Facebook, we can choose one of the other two options
.
The first says, "Sync over WiFi or cellular", and the second option is "Sync over WiFi only". Choose whichever option is best, depending upon your data plan.
17
Look also at the message at the bottom that states, "Synced photos are private until you choose to share them and are available from the web."
18
We're gong to choose the middle option that says, "Sync over WiFi only"
.
19
We also have the option to "Sync All Photos" in the middle, or "Only sync new photos"
.
20
Press down on the circle on the right-hand side to add a check mark across from "Sync All Photos"
.
21
Now, below that it says, "Sync your full gallery"
.
22
If we don't want to do this, and we press down on the circle with the check again, it will remove the check mark
.
Then it will "Only sync new photos".
23
If we ever want to change this option again, we can by just pressing down on "Don't sync my photos"
.
This will turn the option off.
24
When we do that, a message will appear that says, "Are you sure
?
Synced photos are private and you can share them from the web."
25
Press "TURN OFF" at the bottom, and that will turn off this option
.
26
This concludes our tutorial on how to turn on and off photo syncing in Facebook on an HTC One M8
