Edited by Thor, Ash0hley, Eng
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn on or off the option to use Voice Pitch changes, when using the TalkBack feature, on the HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen
.
Hold down, and swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen. At the bottom, there will be icons.
3
Now, we need to find the "Settings" menu
.
To do that, we swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.
4
Now that the notification panel has appeared, here is the icon we're looking for
.
In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon. This is our settings icon. Press down on it, and it will open up our "Settings" menu. We will see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
5
Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PERSONAL" section
.
We can see the word "PERSONAL" in a gray bar.
6
In this section, we are looking for the word "Accessibility"
.
Next to this word, we can see the icon of a hand. Press down on this section, and we will open our "Accessibility" menu.
7
We want the first option here, called "TalkBack"
.
Press down on that to open up a new section.
8
Now, in this section, we want to access the "Settings" menu
.
To do that, we need this icon here. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there are three small white squares in a vertical line. It will open up our menu.
9
There is only one option here, "Settings"
.
Press down on "Settings". Then we'll see some options. In this video, we are learning how to turn on or off the option to use voice pitch changes.
10
That is this option here, "Use pitch changes, Don't change voice pitch when speaking." This function allows the voice to change the pitch in its voice while talking to us
.
If there is grammar or punctuation, it will allow the voice to change its pitch. This could make it sound more human, especially while reading long paragraphs. We can turn this option on or off.
11
Pressing down on the box will put a check in it
.
We can now see that the option below it has changed. It says, "Speak keyboard feedback in a lower-pitched voice".
12
If we press down on the box again, the check will disappear, and it will switch back to, "Don't change the voice pitch when speaking"
.
As we can see, if there is no check, then it won't change the voice pitch.
13
If we press down on the box, and the check is there, then it means that the feedback will be in a lower pitched voice
.
This is the way to change the pitch changes of the TalkBack function. Make the choice that is right for us.
14
This then, concludes our tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to use voice pitch changes when using the TalkBack feature on the HTC One M8
.
