On the home screen, we need to find the Skype tile
    .
It has a blue background with the Skype logo in the middle, which is a white circle with a blue letter "S" inside. If it has not been pinned to the home screen, swipe the screen to the left and find it in the "Apps" menu. Once you've located the Skype tile wherever it may be, press down on it to enter the application.

    Some options will appear
    .
We want the first option at the top of the screen, "Skype message notifications". Right now, it says the word "On", and there is a blue bar to the right of it. If it's blue, it means that it's turned on.

To turn it back on, follow the same function
    .
Press down on the box, but this time, swipe it from left to right, and it should be full with a blue bar now. It should display the word "On". Turn it on or off depending on your needs. This function will allow Skype to send notifications to your Microsoft Lumia 535. Therefore, if you have a new message, if someone is trying to call you, or if the application is turned off and it can still send information to you, it will do that. If this option is turned off, it will not send message notifications. You will have to go into the application to view any new messages, or to see what updates or what information is waiting for you, but it will not directly contact your Microsoft Lumia 535 if the option is turned off.
