To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the Lock screen

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

What we want to do now is to find the Settings menu

To do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down. Start at the top of the screen and swipe downwards.

We can see that the Notification panel has appeared and in the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon, which is our Settings icon

Press down on the icon and it will open up our "Settings" menu

We can see that it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

Now, let's scroll down until we get to the "PERSONAL" section, where we can see it says the word "PERSONAL" in this gray bar

In this section, we're looking for this option which says the word "Security"

Next to the word "Security", there is the icon of a gray padlock.

Press down on this option, and it will take us into our "Security" menu

Let's scroll down now, all the way to the bottom, until we get to "Screen pinning"

Right now, "Screen pinning" is turned on. We can see it says the word "On" underneath the words "Screen pinning". What this does is allow us to pin one screen to the HTC One M8. That screen can't move, we can't move around, and that screen is pinned and held there until we unpin it.

If we want to turn this option on or off then, press down on the words, "Screen pinning", on that section

We have this information on the top, the option to turn it on and off

Let's read what it says. It says, "When turned on, you can use screen pinning to keep the current screen in view until you unpin.", "To use screen pinning:" "1. Make sure screen pinning is turned on.", "2. Open the screen you want to pin.", "3. Touch Recent Apps.", and "4. Touch the pin icon."

We can turn this on and off by pressing this icon in the black bar at the top of the screen, we can see that part of it is green and it says the word "ON" in white letters

Press down on this icon and it will turn this option "OFF"

We can see the green is gone, it's now gray and it says the word "OFF".

If we want to turn this option on, we would press down on the word on the icon and it will make part of it green again

It will make the word "ON" appear in white writing.
