Edited by Thor, Ash0hley, Eng
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn on or off the auto-rotate screen function on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen
.
Hold down, and swipe up.
3
Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen
.
At the bottom, there will be icons.
4
Now, we need to find the settings icon, for the "Settings" menu
.
To do that, we can swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.
5
Now we can see that the notification panel has appeared
.
Here, is the icon we're looking for. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon. This is our settings icon. Press down on it, and it will open up our "Settings menu".
6
We can see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
7
Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section
.
We are looking for the word "PHONE" in a gray bar.
8
In this section, we are looking for the option called "Display & gestures"
.
Beside it, is an icon that looks like it HTC One M8. Press down on this option. It will bring us into the "Display & gestures" menu.
9
We want the first option
.
It says, "Auto-rotate screen". This setting is currently activated. It means that if we turn our HTC One M8, then the screen is going to rotate too. That way, we can always see what we are doing. If we want to switch from landscape or portrait, the screen will always be in the right position to read it.
10
Turn this option off by pressing on the box, located to the right of the words
.
We can turn this off if we don't want it to auto-rotate. That way, it would stay in the same position all of the time. Press down on the box. Now, it is empty.
11
Let's activate the function
.
Press down on it. Now, we can see that the box is green again, and the white check is there. It is activated. If the box is empty, then it is deactivated.
12
This then concludes our tutorial on how to turn on or off the auto-rotate screen function on an HTC One M8
.
