Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn on and off the option to add the icons of new applications to the home screen of an HTC One M8.

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.

Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen

At the bottom, we will see icons. What we want to do in this video is to show how to turn on and off the option to add the icons of new applications to the home screen. We can choose that when we download a new application, it will add the icon of that application directly to the home screen. We would then see it here. It will also add it to the applications folder, and that might be enough for us, in which case we would want to turn the option off.

To do this, we need to open up the applications folder

To do that, we need the icon located at the bottom of the home screen in the middle. It looks like a grid made of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder. Press down on it and it will open up our applications folder.

Find the Play Store application

The icon is a shopping bag with a colorful shape inside. Underneath, it says the words "Play Store". Press down on this icon and it will open up the Play Store application.
