Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how to turn On or Off the option to display messages confirming "message sent" success or failure on an HTC One M8.

Turn the phone On by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, press down on the screen, hold and then swipe up

Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen and some icons at the bottom.

We need to find the "Messages" icon, and it's a square speech bubble with three green horizontal lines in the middle

Press down on this icon, and this will allow us to open up the "Messages" section.

Now we need to find the "Settings" menu

To do that, we need to press the icon in the top right-hand corner with three white squares in a vertical line. Press down on this icon and it will bring up a menu.

We need the second option from the bottom, "Settings"

Press it to enter the "Settings" menu.

We need to choose the top option, it says "Notifications" in black writing

Press down on that, and it's going to bring up our options.

What we want to do now is scroll all the way to the bottom where it says "Display message on screen"

What this option does is it allows the phone to display a message on-screen to tell you if a message has been sent or if there's a failure.

We can press down on this option, and there are four options here
.
A message will come up on screen and it will tell us the status of the message, if it's been sent successfully or if it's been a failure. Right now, we can see which option is selected because there's a blue circle inside next to "Sent success and failure". Right now, every time a message is sent successfully or fails, we receive an on-screen message. We can turn On or Off this option, or we can edit it. The first option, "Sent success only", will show a message on-screen when a message has been sent successfully.

Press down on the "Sent success only" circle, and that will put a blue dot in it
.
It will also take us out of the option, so press down on "Display message on screen" again to see that the dot has moved to the top.

To prevent messages from appearing at all, press down on "None"
.
It won't display any messages on-screen regarding the success or failure of a message being sent. We're going to choose the original option, "Sent success and failure", because we like to see an on-screen message telling us the status of our messages.

Press down on the circle, and it's going to take us out of that option and back into our "Settings" menu
