Steps

    To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone.

    Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen. To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards. Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen. At the bottom, we will see icons. It is one of these icons that we now need to access, because we need to open up the applications folder.

    To do that, we need the icon located at the bottom of the home screen in the middle. It looks like a grid made up of white dots. Press down on this icon and it will open up our applications folder.

    In this folder, we need to find the Photos application. Ours is located at the bottom. There is an icon of a shape made up of different colors. Underneath, it says the word "Photos". Your Photos application may be in a different position in this folder, therefore, you will need to locate it. Press down on the icon to enter the application.

    In this application, we need to find the settings menu. Press down on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen. It looks like three horizontal lines. It will open up a menu.

    Look for the option that says the word "Settings". Press down on the word and it will open up our settings menu.

    We want the first option, which says "Backup & sync". Press down on this section and it will open up the "Backup" menu.

    In order to access this menu, we must have the option turned on. We must be able to see the word "On" here, and the slider icon must be turquoise. If it's gray, press down on the icon and it will become turquoise.

    Scroll down to the option that says "While charging only". "Back up photos & videos only when a charger is connected". Right now, this icon is gray, and that means that this option is deactivated.

    If we activate it, it will back up photos and videos only when the charger is connected. This won't use any battery because we will be connected to a power source. Press down on the icon or anywhere in that section. Now the icon is turquoise, and that means that this option has been activated.

    If we want to deactivate this option, press down on the icon until it goes gray again.
