Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how to turn on and off the option to use your data plan when WiFi isn't available on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the Lock screen

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down until the lock/unlock icon is displayed and then swipe up

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the Home screen and at the bottom we'll see some icons

   All we need to do now is to find the Settings menu

   To do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down by pressing down at the top of the screen, holding down and then swipe down.

   We're looking for this icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   We can see that there is a white cog icon, which is our Settings icon.

   Press down on this icon and it will open up our "Settings" menu

   We want to be in the first section of the "Settings" menu, where we can see it says the words "WIRELESS & NETWORKS" here in this gray bar

    In this section, we're looking for the option that says "Mobile data" and underneath, "Use my data plan when WiFi isn't available"

    .

    What this option means is that when it's turned on and there is no WiFi available, instead of just disconnecting from the WiFi and from the Internet, it will use our mobile data plan to connect to the Internet. We may or may not want to do this because it may cost more money to use our mobile data plan. It may be more inappropriate to use it, depending on our settings and on our use of the HTC One M8. It's good that we have the option to turn this on and off.

    Right now, it's turned on

    We can see that because of the icon on the far right-hand side of the screen. There is a box with the word "ON" inside, in black writing. Part of the box is green.

    We can also see this icon where there are two arrows, one pointing up and one pointing down

    They are also green. This means that this option is turned on.

    If we want to turn this option off, we can just press down on the box, where it says "ON"
