Let's scroll down now to the 'Sent Messages' section
    .
This is the 'Sent Messages' menu, and here we have our different options. We want the 'Failure notification' option. It says "Show notification in status bar when messages cannot be sent". Currently, this option is active, and we can tell because there is a blue check in the box on the far-right side of the screen. If there is a blue check, it means that the function is active and is being used right now.

We can turn it off by pressing down on the box until the check is gone
    .
Once the check has disappeared, we no longer have these options here. We can see these options have faded into the background, and they can't be selected. What this means is that we will not receive a notification in the status bar when messages can't be sent. It's obviously quite a useful function to have turned on, because if you send a message and you don't know if it's been sent successfully, then you're left in limbo. If you've arranged to meet someone for example, you're not going to know if they're actually going to be there because they haven't received your message. We want to activate this function, and if there is a problem with the message, or if there is a problem sending the message we want to know about this, so that we can call the person or convey information to our contact in a different way.
