Turn Off Lock Screen and Security Screen on HTC One M8

Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn off the lock screen and security screen on an HTC One M8. When we turn this phone on, it's going to take us to the lock screen. We'll have to unlock the screen. If it were a security screen, we would have to enter a password, or use a swipe pattern. In this video, we are going to learn how to turn all of these off. For now, when we turn the screen on, we will see the lock screen.
Steps
- 1Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.Turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone.
- 2Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen. At the bottom, there will be icons.To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up.
- 3To do that, we need to swipe the notification panel down. To do that, start right at the top of the screen and swipe down.Now, we need to find the "Settings" menu.
- 4In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon. This is our settings icon. Press down on it, and it will open up our "Settings menu".Now that the notification panel has appeared, here is the icon we're looking for.
- 5We can see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
- 6It will say the word "PERSONAL" in a gray bar.Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PERSONAL" section.
- 7Next to it, there is the icon of a padlock. Tap on this section.Scroll down until we find the "Security" option.
- 8It ways "SCREEN SECURITY" in the gray bar, and below it, it says, "Screen lock". Right now it says, "Lock screen" below that. This is the only type of protection we have activated. We don't have the security screen activated. This demonstration works for both "Security screen" and "Lock screen". Press down on this option.We need the first option.
- 9Show lock screen, but not security screen." That is the option that we currently have.We will see the first option says, "Lock screen.
- 10It says, "No lock screen. Don't use lock screen or security screen." It will get rid of both of them. When we turn the phone on, we will go straight to the phone. Be aware that it makes our phone more vulnerable, and offers no protection. If someone wants to access or steal our phone, they can access it without any problems. Let's press down on this function, "No lock screen". Afterward, underneath "Screen lock" it will say, "No lock screen".We want this option instead.
- 11Put the phone to sleep by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone. When we turned the screen on before, it went to the lock screen first.We need to turn the phone off, so we can see how this option works.
- 12Press the Power button, on top of the phone.Now, let's turn the phone on again.
- 13There is no lock screen or security screen to bypass.We can see it has taken us straight back into the phone, right where we were.
