Tap on the Live Photos icon. It is in the top center of the screen. Tapping on it will turn Live Photos off. You may want to turn off Live Photos because the feature takes up more battery life by recording 1.5 seconds' worth of video all of the time.

If the Live Photos option were enabled, you could tap on the shutter button. This way, the video would be recorded for 1.5 seconds before the taken photo and for 1.5 seconds afterwards. It also would record audio; so, there may be privacy concerns with the Live Photos feature turned on. Some other reasons to turn Live Photos off is that it is not performing well in low-light instances. If you're taking a photo at night, you will want to make sure that Live Photo is off. Lastly, Live Photo takes up memory to record the video as well. A traditional photo would take up about 2 MB, add 1.5 seconds of video both before and after the photo, and add audio that takes additional 2 MB. It's about twice the amount of storage space required as a traditional picture.
