Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on and off login alerts in Facebook on an HTC One M8.

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Facebook application
.
There is a Facebook icon, which is a blue background with a white "f" inside, and underneath it says the word "Facebook". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder. We now need to find the account settings menu.

To do that, we need to tap the menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

There are three gray horizontal lines. They're very faint, but we can see them.

Scroll up or down to find "Account Settings", and tap on it

There will be a gray circle with a white head and shoulders and gear inside. This will open up the account settings menu.

Tap on the second option, "Security"

Tap on the first option, "Login Alerts"

Underneath it says "Get an alert when anyone logs into your account from a new device or browser". This is just a way of keeping our account safe, so if someone logs into our account from a different device or browser, we will receive a message about it. We can decide how and where we receive this message. We can receive notifications, emails and text messages. Currently, all of these options are off. So we won't receive any login alerts.

If we do want to receive login alerts, we can tap on each of the options

We'll start with "Notifications".

Tap on the chosen option

This page says "Choose whether you want to get a Facebook notification alert." We can see that the blue circle is next to "Don't get notifications", indicating that the option is selected. We will tap on "Get notifications". The blue circle will then move to that option.

Press down on "Save" in the blue bar

It will now say "On" to the right of "Notifications".

We can tap on the phone number where we want the alerts sent to

It says "Choose whether you want to get text message alerts and where you want them sent". If we press down on this option we will see the white check mark in the blue circle, which means that we've selected this option.

We can turn these options on or off depending on our requirements.
