Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn notifications from Gmail On and Off on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone On by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen; to unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and at the bottom, we will see these icons

   .

   It is one of these icons that we now need to access as we need to open up the applications folder.

   To open up the applications folder, we need this icon located at the bottom of the home screen and in the middle

   We can see that there is a grid made of white dots. Press down on this icon and it will open up our applications folder.

   In this folder, we need to find the Gmail application

   .

   Mine is located here. We can see that there is the Gmail icon which is the envelope with a red "M" and underneath, it says the word "Gmail". Your Gmail application may be in a different position in this folder. Therefore, you will need to find it and once you have found it, press down on it to enter the application.

   We now need to find the settings menu and to do that, we need this icon located in the top left-hand corner of the screen

   We can see that there are three white horizontal lines. Press down on this icon and it will open up a new menu.

   We need to scroll down to the bottom and we can see here it says the word "Settings"

   Press down on the word "Settings" and it will open up a new menu.

   We need the middle option

   .

   We can see that there is an email address which is our account address. You will see your email address there and your account address. Press down on it and it will open up another menu and the settings for that account.

   We want this option here which says "Notifications"

    Currently, this option is activated because this box is blue with a white check inside

    .

    This means that we are receiving notifications from the Gmail application but we can turn this option Off if we don't want to receive notifications from Gmail.

    To turn Off notifications, press on the box until it is empty

    We are no longer receiving notifications.

    If we want to activate this option and we do want to receive notifications from the Gmail application, press down on the box again until it is blue and has a white check in it
