You're watching VisiHow. Today, we are going to show you how to turn button labels on and off on the iPhone 6.
To start with, give the home button a single press. The home button is the circular button at the bottom center of the phone.
Alternatively, press the lock or power button on the upper right side of the phone.
Then swipe across the lock screen to open the screen where an ID or passcode can be entered.
The home button can also be used as a touch ID sensor if you place your finger or thumb on the button. This will open the home screen.
On the home screen, we are looking for the Settings icon. It is a gray box with a series of gears inside.
One press on the Settings icon will open the main Settings panel.
Scroll down to the third section, and press on 'General' This option is indicated by a gray gear box as well.
Now, scroll down to the third section of the next screen and tap once to open the 'Accessibility' option.
On the 'Accessibility' screen, we'll scroll down to the second section to find 'On/Off Labels', which is the last option in that section. On/Off Labels are the little 'O' on the right when it is off, or an 'I' which would indicate that it's on. It is much like a light switch indicating open or closed circuits.
For example, if we tap to turn on 'Bold Text', it simply turns the left side of the switch green.
However, if we tap on the switch for 'On/Off Labels', the switch turns green, and there's a little 'I' on the left side of the switch.
Now, if we tap on the 'Bold Text' switch, there is also an 'I' there.
When the option is off, there is an 'O' on the right side of the switch. In fact, all of the buttons now have this on them, an 'I' on the left when the option is turned on, and an 'O' on the right when the option is turned off. This continues with buttons throughout the phone, allowing us to easily see if a button is on or off, which is helpful for those with a visual impairment, or if using a device that does not recognize colors and may require an indicator.
When finished, press 'General' at the top left corner of the screen to go back.
Then tap on 'Settings' at the top left to go back another screen.
At the 'Settings' screen, double-press the home button.
Close the Settings panel by swiping it up.
A single tap on the main screen will take us back to the home screen, where we will be able to return to using the phone as normal with On and Off buttons for all of the other settings we may use.
This concludes our tutorial on how to enable and disable button labels for the iPhone 6. Thank you for choosing VisiHow. If you have additional comments or questions, please let us know in the section below. Have a great day.
