You're watching VisiHow. Today we are going to show you how to turn Bluetooth on or off on the HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To get started, pick up the phone and double-tap the screen or press the lock button at the top of the phone to wake it up
.
This will bring you to the lock screen.
2
Press and hold the white padlock icon and swipe up to unlock the phone
.
This will bring you the home screen.
3
The quickest and easiest way to access Bluetooth is to swipe down to access the notification panel and tap the icon in the top right corner
.
4
Tap the Bluetooth icon to turn it on or off
.
When it is turned on, the icon turns green and spins around to indicate that it has been turned on. When you tap it to turn it off, the icon turns white. There are other ways to turn Bluetooth on as well.
5
Tap on the "Settings" icon at the top right of the screen
.
6
Tap the switch to the right of "Bluetooth" to turn it on or off
.
If Bluetooth is on, the switch will say "ON" and will be green.
7
You will also see the Bluetooth icon in the top status bar
.
8
Another way to enable Bluetooth is to tap the icon with 9 dots to access the applications
.
9
Tap on the "Settings" icon
.
This will take you to the same area we were in previously, where you can tap the switch to turn Bluetooth on or off.
10
Tap on "Bluetooth" to get more information
.
11
Here you can see other devices that are nearby and available
.
If the circle is spinning at the top, Bluetooth is scanning. The HTC One M8 is currently looking for other available devices. Whether it finds something or not is another matter. I'm going to enable a second device to see if the phone will find it.
12
As you can see, the phone has found "iPhone"
.
Unfortunately, iPhone doesn't really play nice with other phones, so you can't do much with Bluetooth.
13
Swipe down to access the notification panel and tap on the icon again to access the quick settings
.
14
Tap the 3 dots next to "Bluetooth"
.
This will bring up the same Bluetooth menu that was previously accessed. This is a much faster and much easier way to access this information on the HTC One M8.
15
This concludes the tutorial on how to enable and disable Bluetooth on the HTC One M8
.
