Hello, welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn Bluetooth tethering on and off, on an HTC One M8.
To begin, we need to turn the phone on by pressing the Power button. This button is located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen.
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down, then proceed to swipe upwards. Two white padlock icons will appear when we are holding down, this lets us know we can now swipe upwards.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen. At the bottom of the screen, there will be a row of five various icons. Now we need to find the Settings menu. To do this, we need to swipe the Notification panel down.
To swipe the Notification panel down, we need press down at the very top of the screen, hold down, and then swipe down.
Now we can see that the Notification panel has appeared, featuring a white cog icon in the top right-hand corner. This is our Settings icon.
Press down on the Settings icon one time, this will open up our Settings menu. We can see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner.
Underneath of the word "Settings", there are the words "WIRELESS & NETWORKS". Underneath of these words, we have our wireless and network options.
Within the section, we are looking for the option labeled "More". Underneath it will say "Data usage, HTC Mini+, NFC...". To the left, there will be an icon featuring three, gray dots in a horizontal line.
Press down on this option one time, this will take us in the "Wireless & networks" menu. The words "Wireless & networks" will be present in the top, left-hand corner of the screen.
We are now looking for the option labeled "Mobile network sharing". This is the fourth option on this menu.
Press down on this option one time, this will take us to a new menu titled "Mobile network sharing".
At the bottom, we will see an option labeled "Bluetooth tethering". This means that we can connect another device to our phone via Bluetooth. The connected device will then have access to our phones internet. This can be very useful.
To turn this option on, we need to press the icon to the right of the words "Bluetooth tethering". This icon is rectangular in shape. Currently, the top left-hand corner is a light gray while the rest of the box is a darker shade of gray. We can see that right now it is off, so this icon will have the word "OFF" inside of it.
Press down on this icon, this will turn Bluetooth tethering on. We can see that the icon has now changed to say "ON". The box colors have also changed, the top left-hand corner will now be green while the right side is a light gray.
We can also press down once on the words "Bluetooth tethering".
This is going to bring up a new screen titled "Bluetooth internet sharing". Here we can go through by tapping "NEXT" to share our phone's internet connection over Bluetooth. On this screen, we can see that our phone is named "VisiHow".
Press on the gray bar at the bottom of the screen, the words "NEXT" will be written inside of it.
The phone will now ask us to turn on Bluetooth on our other device, then connect to "VisiHow". Make sure the other device we are trying to connect to is turned on, then make sure that Bluetooth is turned on. Once that is done, they will need to accept the connection from our phone.
Now we are going to tap on "NEXT", located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. This option will be written in black, inside of a gray bar.
Now we will be brought to another screen, informing us that our phone is waiting for the other device to connect.
When the other device is connected, we can press on the option labeled "DONE". This option is located in the bottom right-hand corner, inside of a gray bar. The word "DONE" is currently written in dark gray, meaning we cannot select this option. When this option is ready to be selected, the word "DONE" will be written in black.
