How to format and delete from the flash using Windows command prompt?

Using Command Prompt is always much more fun!
- 1Type the command below (please note that your character may be different):Switch to your flash drive.
F:
- 2Now, type
dir
- 3For example, there is "myfile.txt" shown.You will see some files on the flash card.
- 4To delete the file, type
Del myfile.txt
- 5To delete files in which part of the name matches (for example, the file name), use an asterisk for that part:
Del *.txt
- 6This will delete all of the files with the "TXT" extension.
- 7To learn more on the command, type
Del /?
- 8If used improperly, you can lose some of your important data. Now, to format a flash drive, type the following (assuming that "F" is the flash drive):Use the following command with caution.
format F: /FS:NTFS /V:MyFlash /Q /X /A:512
- 9This will format the drive with the letter "F" as an NTFS file system with 512 KB sectors (Windows-compatible) by labelling the drive "MyFlash", dismounting it if necessary, and performing formatting quickly.
