Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to tag people in tweets or direct tweets to people in Twitter on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.
Once, the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen, and at the bottom will be several icons. It is one of these icons that we now need to access, as we need to open the Applications folder.
To do that we need the icon located at the bottom of the home screen and in the middle. It is a grid made up of white dots.
Press down on this icon, and it will open up the "Apps" folder.
In this folder we need to find the Twitter application. The "Twitter" icon has a blue background with a white bird on it. Underneath, it says the word "Twitter". The "Twitter" application may be in any position in this folder.
Once it is found, press down on the "Twitter" icon to enter the application. What we want to demonstrate in this video tutorial is how to tag people in tweets or direct tweets to certain people.
First, we need to start a new tweet by pressing on the icon at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. It is a quill, or old fashioned pin, laying on top of a piece of paper.
Pressing down on that icon will allow us to type a new tweet. In order to tag people or direct our tweets to certain people, we can use the @ symbol.
Press the smiley face at the bottom left corner of the keyboard to bring up the icons.
The "@" symbol icon is located on the second line on the left side.
Press down on it to have it appear in our tweet, and this is how we direct tweets to people or tag people in our tweets.
After adding the "@" symbol, we need to write the name of the contact or account that we want to tag or direct our tweet to. For this example, we will type in "hjbuell". Now, when we send this tweet, it is going to be directed to him. He is going to receive it and know that he's been tagged in the tweet. Then he will be able to reply to it or whatever he wants to do. We can say, "@hjbuell", and then we'll type in a message directed to him.
As soon as we "Tweet" this message, it is going to be directed to him, and we have tagged him in this tweet. Remember to always use the "@" symbol. We can include as many of those "@" symbols, or as many different accounts as desired in one tweet. The only limit is the character limit.
Press down on the word "Tweet" in the blue box at the bottom right corner when satisfied. That will tweet the post, and we have successfully tagged a person or an account in a tweet and directed a tweet to a person or account.
This concludes our tutorial on how to tag people in tweets or direct tweets to people in Twitter on an HTC One M8.
