Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how to change the Google Maps application to use Terrain images on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone

   .

   Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the lock screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and at the bottom, we will see some icons. It is this area where we'll need to focus because we need to open the Applications folder.

   Press the icon in the middle bottom of the home screen, which is a grid of white dots

   This is the icon for the "Applications" folder. Press down on it, and it will open up that folder.

   We need to find the Maps application

   It has an icon of a map with a red pin in it, and underneath it says the word "Maps". Press down on the icon, and it will open up our Maps application.

   What we want to do in this video is show how to use terrain images for our maps, and to do that, we need the icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen

   There are three gray, horizontal lines. Press down on this icon and it will open up a menu.

   We're looking for the "Terrain" option

   .

   It says the word "Terrain", and next to it, there are some mountains in a triangle shape. Press down on the "Terrain" option.

   We will return to the Terrain mode

   .

   This is the mode where we will find the Default mode images of the Terrain mode because we can see that it's a lot clearer. There's not so much clutter, they've cleaned it up, the colors are easier to understand, and the roads are easier to see. It's easier to navigate, and we can actually get a sense of where we want to go if we need directions.
