Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to change the Google Maps application to use satellite images on an HTC One M8.

Steps

    To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone
    .
    Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.

    To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

    Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen, and at the bottom, we will see some icons.

    We need to use the icon located at the bottom of the home screen in the middle
    .
    We can see that there is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the Applications folder. Press down on it, and it will open up the Applications folder.

    We now need to find Maps application
    .
    It's located here at the top of the screen. We can see that there is an icon of a map, and there is a red pin in the map, and it says "Maps" underneath. Press down on that icon, and it will open up the Maps application for us. What we want to do in this video is show how to use satellite images with the maps. That creates a different view and perspective. It allows us to see a number of different things on the map.

    To do that, we need to press down on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen
    .
    There are three horizontal, gray lines. Press down on this icon, and it will open up a menu.

    We want the "Satellite" option
    .
    Press down on that option, and it will change the maps to use satellite images.

    We can see that this is a real image
    .
    It's very useful because we actually get more of a sense of location. For example, if we were looking for somewhere to go camping or to a picnic, we might want to look for trees or a natural environment. This helps us to actually see what is here. For example, we can see the lake, and we can see the trees or other things, and it gives a lot more detail. We can see all of the detail of the locations such as the steps, there's a stadium here, and it's very interesting to see.
