Start a Successful Environmental Program for Your Hotel
Edited by Hotelier, Amanda, Eng
Hello, and thank you for watching VisiHow. Today's tutorial will teach you how to put an environmental program or policy into effect in your hotel. Many branded hotels especially have an environmental program, and you need to know how you can communicate this program to your guests. We do have one sample of an environmental program that would be found in a hotel room to show you. Ours is printed on a standard sheet of paper, but typically this would be on a card, likely a triangle-folded card. It would probably be placed next to or on the bed.
Steps
- 1If we're running an environmental policy, we may only change linens during a guest's stay every second or third day. We may not change them every single day unless the guest specifically requests it. However, it is important to communicate this to the guests, and let them know that it is part of a program intended to conserve resources.Communicate how frequently linens are changed during a guest's stay.
- 2In many cases, the triangle-folded card can be placed by the guest on the bed to indicate that the linens can be kept another day. One common procedure is to tell guests that if they would like their towels changed, they can leave them on the floor, or inside the bathtub. Hanging them up would indicate that they are willing to keep them another day.Tell guests what they need to do in order to either change or keep their linens.
