Steps
- 1You may have even heard that using your nose while singing may be beneficial. In some cases, it can be. However, when you use nasality, you are actually closing the voice. For certain vowel sounds such as ee, nasality makes the sound more clear.When speaking, you may find that you use your nose and soft palate too much, which create nasal sound.
- 2Make sure that when you use nasality, you do not close the throat. You still want to keep your airway open and support your breath with the diaphragm muscles in order to produce good sound.When singing other vowels such as open "A", "O", or "You", using the nose will produce too much nasality in the tone of your voice.

- 4Allowing for some nasality on mi, as it is important for the ee sound. For the remaining vowels, we do want to avoid using too much nasality. The best way to remove nasality from your voice is to find a teacher and record yourself, so that you can understand what you are doing incorrectly with your mouth and nose.Focusing on the mouth will produce a more resonant sound.
