Hi. You are watching VisiHow, and this is a tutorial on how to show or hide popup previews for files and folders.
As you can see I have a folder here on my desktop named VisiHow and if I hover my mouse cursor over it, you can see the popup preview that shows me the date of creation, size, folders and files.
If you do not want this to happened or if it does not happen and you want it too, then you can change the settings. To change the settings, you need to click on Start menu.
Then access the Control Panel.
From the Control Panel, you need to click on Appearance and Personalization.
Then go and click on the Folder Options.
In the Folder Options Tap on View.
Then you need to scroll all the way down here and you need to locate Show Popup description for Folder and Desktop items.
Now in case if you want to show it, just leave it ticked, or if you want to hide it you need to untick it, and press OK.
You are free to close the Control Panel.
If I hover my mouse over the folder now, nothing will pop up.
This concludes our tutorial on how to show or hide popup previews for files and folders on Windows 7 computers. Thank you for watching VisiHow, if you have any other comments or questions please leave them in the comment section below.
