Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how you can show or hide albums in the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.

Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and at the bottom, we will see these icons

It is in this area that we need to focus now because we need to open up the applications folder.

To open the applications folder, we need to press the icon located at the bottom center of the home screen

We can see that there is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder. Press down on it and it will open up the folder.

We need to find the Gallery application and it is located here

We can see that there is an icon of a photo and looks like some yellow sand dunes. Underneath the icon, it says the word "Gallery". Press down on this icon and it will open up our Gallery application.

What we want to do now is show you how you can show and hide albums in this application

To begin, it is important that we are in the "Albums" section. It should say "Albums" in the top left corner of the screen.

If we are not in this section, we can enter this section by pressing down on this icon in the top left corner of the screen

The icon is three horizontal lines.

Press down on the icon and we can choose which section to be in and make sure we are in the "Albums" section

Once we are in the "Albums" section, we are looking for the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

There are three small white dots in a vertical line. Press down on this icon and it will show us a little menu.

We want this middle option which says "Show/hide albums"

Here, we can see all the different albums that we have and we can see which ones we want to show and which ones we want to hide

Currently, all the boxes that are turquoise-green and have white checks in them are the albums that we can show people
.
The "All photos" album is not being shown to people because its check box is empty.

For example, if we wanted to hide "Viber Images", we can press down on this box so that the check is gone and the box is now empty
.
This means that this album as been deselected and it will be hidden. We can remove some of these albums and hide them which means people will not be able to see them. We will be able to reveal them again, but they will be hidden until then.

If we want to show an album, we just repeat the same process; just press down on the box until the check has appeared and the box is turquoise again

We are going to hide "Viber Images" again by taking away the check so that we can see what the Albums section looks like

Keep in mind that the "Viber Images" album has now been hidden.
