Share Songs from Spotify on iPhone 6
Edited by Freya, Crystal, Eng
You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to share songs on the Spotify application on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we need to unlock the phone by pressing the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone
.
Alternatively, press the home button on the bottom.
2
Swipe and enter the passcode or simply use the fingerprint scanner
.
3
Find and tap on the Spotify icon, which is black and green
.
This will open up the app. It will take us to the browse page, which is like the Spotify homepage. If we're not logged in, it will take us to the log in page. To learn how to log in to Spotify, refer to my other video.
4
Tap the 3 horizontal white lines in the top left-hand corner
.
This brings up a new menu.
5
We can search for a song using the "Search" option, which we've talked you through in another video as well
.
6
Alternatively, we can simply play the last song we listened to by dragging up at the bottom of the screen
.
We can also easily browse anywhere on Spotify to find a song to share.
7
We can see that we were listening to this song already, but it's paused
.
8
What we need to do, once we have the song on the screen (making sure it's the big window, not just the bar at the bottom), is tap on the 3 horizontal white dots in a circle
.
It will be on the right-hand side of the title and name. This brings up a menu.
9
Tap on the fourth option down, titled "Share"
.
It has an arrow pointing towards the right, on the left-hand side.
10
Now we have the option to Post or Send this song
.
To begin, we're going to tap on "Post to", which has an indication of two people and an arrow on the left-hand side.
11
Now we can edit the text
.
It currently says, "#NowPlaying "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone from I Put A Spell On You".
12
Below that, we have the choices to post to Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr, indicated by their icons
.
13
We can also tap on "MORE" which brings up other options to send via message or mail as well
.
14
We'll just tap on Facebook for now
.
The icon will then show in color.
15
We can also post to Twitter, but we will need to connect if we haven't already
.
The reason it didn't ask us to connect to Facebook is because we logged in with Facebook, so if we didn't log in with Facebook and used our email instead, it will bring up this window as well. For now, we will only share with Facebook since the format is pretty much the same for Facebook, mail, message, Twitter and Tumblr.
16
Tap "Post" in the top right-hand corner
.
17
We will see an arrow with the text "Shared Successfully"
.
We've officially posted it to Facebook. We will now demonstrate the "Send to" option.
18
We will tap on the 3 horizontal dots again
.
19
20
Tap on "Send to", which has an arrow going into a box on the left-hand side
.
21
We can then "Select People", send via "Email", "Message", or "WhatsApp"
.
We will tap on "Select People".
22
We tap on the search bar at the tap to search our contact list
.
23
Now, we should tap on the person that we want to send the song to
.
24
We can now add a message
.
25
To demonstrate sharing via Email, we will tap on the arrow in the top left-hand corner to go back
.
26
This will compose a new email.
27
It has already put some text and a link in, so we would simply tap on "To:" to add an address, just like we would do for any other email from our iPhone
.
28
Tap on "Message" to share it as a text message
.
29
It's the same format, so all we would have to do is add a contact at the top and send it like a normal SMS message
.
30
We will tap on "WhatsApp" to demonstrate that
.
Again, this will be the same format.
31
Tap on the chosen contact
.
32
33
Double tap the home button, and tap on the Spotify application to go back to it
.
34
Tap on the arrow in the top left-hand corner
.
35
Our final option is "Copy Song Link"
.
36
The link will be copied to the clipboard
.
Now we can paste the link somewhere such as a message, or maybe compose our own Facebook post by posting the link instead. We would just hold down and tap on "Paste" like we always do with our iPhone.
37
Tap on the arrow in the top left-hand corner to go back
.
38
We are back to the screen where we began
.
39
This concludes the tutorial on how to share songs on the Spotify application on the iPhone 6
.
