   To begin, we will unlock the phone by pressing the button on the top right-hand side

   Then swipe up to view the home screen

   Find the Instagram icon on the home screen

   .

   If Instagram is not loaded on the home screen it can be accessed through the "Apps" icon in the bottom right-hand corner. It is a gray box with several white squares inside of it.

   Tap on that icon one time to open all the applications we have loaded on the phone

   Scroll left and right until we locate the Instagram camera icon

   Press the Instagram icon one time to open the application.

   In the blue bar at the top of the screen there is the word "Instagram" and a blue box on the right side of the bar

   Tap the box once to access "Instagram Direct", which will share photos and videos directly to friends and only the people to whom we are sending something.

   We can send a photo or video by tapping the ("+") plus sign at the top right-hand corner

   Now, we can select a photo from the gallery that we would like to share with a specific person.

   Once we have located a photo, we can press the blue arrow in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   We can then make changes to the photo by applying filters and changing brightness settings, contrast, warmth, highlights and shadows

    We can write a caption and find specific friends to send the photo to

    To find someone, begin typing their name

    Then we can tap on their names to add them to the recipient list.

    When we have chosen all the friends with whom to share the photo, we can tap on the green box with the white check mark in the top right-hand corner

    This sends the photo via Instagram Direct to the three contacts we have selected

    When we are finished sending photos, we can close Instagram completely by pressing the bottom center button. This returns us to the home screen.
