   To start, press the power button on the right side

   You may have a "Get" icon, when you tap "Get" it will then say "Install" then you just tap "Install". In my case, I have this cloud icon so I'm going to tap that. This will download the application.

   When your download has completed, you will have a new icon on one of your home screens

   Not the first screen, but any of the other screens. You also have the option to tap Open in the App Store. However, it is important to note that the iPhone 6, by default, does not install any new application to the first or main home screen, other than Apple apps. For example, the new iPhone Watch application automatically installed to the main home screen, however, WhatsApp will not, it will install to any other home screen. If there is a space open on the home screen you can move it yourself. Let's tap open.

    I can tap on settings and go to about, tell a friend, profile, account, chat settings, notifications, network status, system status, etc

    Network status says I am not connected which is unusual because according to everything else, I am connected.

    If you're in WhatsApp and it's telling you you're not connected, press the home button which will take you to the home screen, then double press the home button and swipe WhatsApp up to close it

    Once you're done, tap the screen to go back to the home screen.

    It does show that it's now connected. Sometimes WhatsApp will have a minor error and you will just have to work around that.

Why does it need verification code and visa card details?

How do I hook my contact list to WhatsApp? This appears to be a necessary step in order to use the app?

In downloading and setting up WhatsApp on my iPhone 6s, I get a message saying the app doesn't have access to my contacts. When I go to settings, it says I can allow the app access to photos, camera, and background app. Contacts is not shown as an option. My contacts list is intact on my phone. There is no reference in the article to this problem. I have tried: Following the prompts in setting up the app to be used on my phone. I think it was caused by: No idea! My contacts are not otherwise restricted in any way.
