Enable the iCloud Photo Library by tapping the switch to the right of "iCloud Photo Library"
    .
The option is enabled with the switch is on the right, and the switch is green. Once the iCloud Photo Library is enabled, it will store the entire photo library on the phone in the cloud. This means our photo library will be accessible from all of our devices.

The two options are to "Optimize iPhone Storage" or "Download and Keep Originals"
    .
Optimizing our iPhone storage means that the photos are uploaded to iCloud where we can access them and download them from anywhere we like, and the copies on the phone are replaced with lower resolution photos. This means that if we were to take a photo that is 8 megabytes, that photo is uploaded to the cloud. However, our phone would have an optimized version of the photo, which might only be 400-800 kilobytes. This helps to ensure the storage on the phone is used as efficiently as possible and allows us to have more photos on the phone than we would normally be able to have. Checking "Optimize iPhone Storage" will allow us to take high-resolution photos that will be uploaded to the cloud, and our phone will retain a smaller, lower quality version of that photo.
