Setup a Yahoo Email Account

Welcome to VisiHow. My name is Nikki and this is a tutorial on how to open a Yahoo email account.

Steps

   Double-click on the browser icon

   In this example, we are using Internet Explorer and the homepage is set to Google.com.

   In the address bar at the top, type in https://www.yahoo.com/

   Alternatively, you can click on the Yahoo link. The Yahoo homepage will open.

   On the right side, click on "Mail" with a purple envelope

   Click on the blue button, "Create Account"

   Enter your first and last name in the first two boxes

   Choose the email address you would prefer

   It will end with "@yahoo.com". If the preferred address isn't available, choose something else.

   Select your date of birth by click on the Month, Day, and Year boxes

    We can also enter in an optional recovery number if we choose to

    For example, we can enter in our other phone number or the phone number of someone close to us, just in case we forget our password.

    Click on "Create account"

    By clicking on "Create account", we agree to the Yahoo Terms and Privacy.

    Yahoo will need to send a verification code to the phone number on the account

    Click on "Send SMS" to verify your phone number. Click on "call you" in blue text if you would prefer that Yahoo calls us with a code instead.

    When the code is received, enter it into the text box and click on "Submit code"

    We need to enter a verification code to protect Yahoo from potential hackers. Yahoo is checking to make sure we are a real person.

    If it is successful, a window will open that says "Congratulations"

    A screen will pop up that says "Hi" with your name

    Personalize your inbox with a theme by choosing a theme and clicking "Keep Theme". Click on "Not Now" to do this later.
