Setup Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for First-Time Use

The Samsung Galaxy Note3 is an awesome device. Before you can start using and enjoying its great features, you need to set it up. This article will guide you through setting up your device for first time use. To start using your device, you need to power it on. Once the phone starts for the first time, you will be asked to setup your Note3. Simply and follow the procedures below to properly and successfully set-up your device:
Setup Samsung Galaxy Note3 for First-Time Use
- 1The first screen that greets you is the welcome screen. Here, you can change the language should need to do it. This is a great start so you can go through the rest of setting up without problems with language. To change the language, simply tap on the language scroll down menu and tap your preferred language. Also, if you are having sight and hearing problems, you can tap on the Accessibility button to change the accessibility settings to your convenience. You can tap on Next to proceed to the next page. However, take note that tapping on Next means that you agree to Samsung's terms and conditions. You can tap on Learn more to read the terms of use.Welcome!
- 2The second screen is the date and time screen. Here, you can choose to manually change on the date and time by tapping on their corresponding portions or set the phone to the network's time and date to automatically update date and time. You can also change your time zone to fit your current location. Click on Next if you are done.Date and time.
- 3The third screen is the Samsung account login screen where you can login using an existing Samsung account or you can create a new one if you do not have it yet. This is an optional step and you can quickly tap on Skip to proceed to the next page. However, we recommend that you sign in or make a new account as some of Samsung Galaxy Note3's feature requires a Samsung Account. To sign in, simply tap on the Sign in button and enter your Samsung account and password. To make a new account, tap on Create new account button.Samsung account.
- 4If you choose to create a new account, this page will require you to input the following details:Create new account.
- Email address. Enter a valid email address.
- Password. Enter a secure password.
- Confirm password. Enter the same secure password. Tap on the "Show password" button if you are having problems with password confirmation.
- Date of birth. Enter birthday on the format: MM/DD/YYYY
- First name. Enter your first name.
- Last name. Enter your last name.
- Zip code. Enter your address's zip code.
- Tap to put a check mark on Receive notices box if you want to receive updates from Samsung on your email address.
- Tap on "Signup" to proceed.

- 6When you are done and you agree to all of the terms and conditions, you can tap on the box before the I accept all the terms above and tap on the Agree button. If you do not agree to at least one of them, tap on the Decline button. You can still continue using your Note3 if you tap on "Decline".Agree.

- 8This is the backup and restore page, where you can restore previously backed up text messages, multimedia messages, logs and wallpaper. Tap on the check box to the right of Restore to start restoring. If you have not made backup, you can tap on "Auto backup" so your phone will perform Auto backup. - 11This is the page where you can opt to make a new Google account or proceed with the next page without creating one. We recommend you to make one to be able to perform backup, restoration and other useful functions. Also, Play Store will require you to make a Google account before you can download content using it; you may not want to miss that. To make a new Google account tap on Get an account.Make it Google.

- 14Wait for the device to communicate with Google to confirm if your chose username is still available. If it is already taken by someone else, you will be given with suggested similar usernames or you can opt to completely change it again. If you have already a verified unique username, you will be required to enter a secure password that has at least eight characters and that includes numbers and special characters. You will also be asked to confirm your password. Tap on the "Next" button to proceed with the next page.Create password.
- 15This page will allow you to set up recovery options whenever you forget your password. You can opt to use your phone and receive your password via SMS or use your email address for password recovery. Though this is an optional feature, it is highly recommended to set up recovery options.Google password recovery.

- 17This page will allow you to choose the Google services that you want. You can use your Google account to back up your phone's data, or allow Google to estimate your location using Google's location service. Simply read and tap on the check box to allow Google to enable the service on your device. Tap on the "Next" button to go to the next page.Google services.
- 18If you agree to Google's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Chrome Terms of Service and Privacy Notice, and Google Play Terms of Service, tap on the I accept button to finish your account or tap on Don't create account if you do not agree to one of the terms. You can tap on the underlined words to be able to see the whole terms of services.Finish account.

- 22This page will allow you to add a Dropbox account or create a new one for your phone. Dropbox automatically saves your photos and videos to a cloud storage so you can access it anywhere and anytime as long as you have an internet connection. Dropbox gives you a 50 GB free space for two years. Tap on the desired button or tap on "Skip" to skip Dropbox.Dropbox.
- 23This page is an indication that you have successfully set up your Samsung Galaxy Note3 for first-time use. You can set your device name to your preference. This will be shown when you use Bluetooth, WiFi direct, share WiFi connection and other connections.
