Setup ClearType Text in Windows 7

Steps

We start off by going to the 'Control Panel'

To go there, we need to press the 'Start' button in the lower left corner of the screen. Then, we click 'Control Panel'.

Once the 'Control Panel' window opens, we need to click 'Appearance and Personalization'

Once in that section, we need to click 'Display'
.
On the left side of the screen, there is a list of subsections. We are looking for 'Adjust ClearType text'. It is written in blue in this video.

We click 'Adjust ClearType text' once

In the new window, we need to make sure that 'Turn on ClearType' has a check
.

From the new screen, we are choosing the resolution. The native resolution for the wide-screen monitor in this tutorial is 1280x720.

We select the native resolution

In this video, 'Keep current resolution 1280x720' is clicked, as it is native.

There will be several Windows of text. We should choose the one that is best for us.

In this example, the left window with text is obviously better than the right one

The right one has blue and red artifacts. We do not need that.

We click the better text sample window

Then, there is a list of thickness of the letters. We choose the one that is the most appealing for our eyes.
