Whatever your reasons may be, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has it covered with its built-in call forwarding feature. In this article, we'll show you step-by-step how to setup Call Forwarding on your Android device running Jelly Bean, Kitkat, Lollipop or Marshmallow.
Please note that not all mobile carriers have call forwarding enabled by default. If after following the steps for your Android version you can't get call forwarding to work, contact your mobile service provider for more information.

- 7Call forwarding is now disabled.
You will be taken back to the Call Forwarding options. The number should no longer be under the option that used to have call forwarding.
Advanced Settings are not displaying. What not?
Some phones do not have Additional Settings. This is because different carriers have different Call Settings. For example, Verizon does not have the Additional Settings in the Call Settings but this does not mean that you cannot forward calls using Verizon phones. If your phone does not have the Additional Settings, you may follow these procedures to activate or deactivate call forwarding:
Activating Call Forwarding on phones with no Additional Settings
Follow the procedures below to activate call forwarding on your Samsung Galaxy S4:
- 1Go to your Galaxy S4 Home screen by tapping on the Home button once, or tapping on the Back key a few times, until it takes you to the Home screen.

Don't Have Additional Options
Other network carriers, like Verizon, removed the Additional Options with the Jellybean Version 4.3 update. The picture below is the comparison of a phone with no Additional Settings and a phone with Additional Settings.
You can still enable call forwarding by tapping the "Call Forwarding" option straight from the Phone settings.
Questions and Answers
2. Hi, the "call forwarding" option is not listed following the steps to locate that feature?
Some phones do not have the "Additional Settings" on them, as network carriers have removed it. You can still get access to the Call Forwarding feature by going to your Home screen > Tap on the Menu Key > Tap on Settings > Tap on My Device > Call > Search for Call Forwarding. You should be able to see the Call Forwarding option on your Call Settings.
The Call Forwarding feature on Samsung Galaxy S4 depends on your network, so if your phone does not have the "Additional Settings" option under "Call" settings, this just means that your carrier network does not support call forwarding. Some carrier networks like Verizon don't have this option, so without this option on your phone, call forwarding won't be impossible.
3. I want to forward one mobile number to another one on Samsung S4?
Is it possible to forward one particular phone number to another one on Samsung S4
As answered in Question#1, you cannot normally forward calls selectively. You need to call your customer care and ask if Selective Call Forwarding is offered as part of their services. If they do, there will probably be a cost for this service, so you should find out. Different telecommunication companies have different rates and the number of contacts that can be part of the feature differs as well. For AT&T you can dial *63 and follow the instructions to enable Selective Call Forwarding on your phone. You can then select a number, maximum of six, to selectively forward calls.
Unfortunately, the option to forward calls from only a selected number or numbers to another number, is not available on Samsung Galaxy S4. Under the call forwarding settings, these are the only options available:
- Always Forward - this will always forward all of your calls to another number.
- Forward When Busy - this will forward calls when you're number is busy.
- Forward When Unanswered - this will forward calls when unanswered.
- Forward When Unreachable - this will forward calls when your number is unreachable - your battery is dead, or the phone has been turned off.
Mine does not show Additional Settings, it shows Call Accessories.
In the step: "Then under Call Settings tap "Additional Settings". Mine does not show additional settings, it shows call accessories.
There are similar issues regarding the Additional Settings in call forwarding on Samsung Galaxy S4, or other settings. The confusion with these options might be caused by the Phone provider. The phone's features also often differ from carrier to carrier.
There are still no guaranteed solutions for these issues.
The reason why you do not see "Additional Settings", and see "Call Accessories" instead, is because the call forwarding option has been disabled by your carrier, especially if the phone came from them. If you wish to use this feature, call your carrier to upgrade your plan and get the feature. That option will then show on your phone.

Trying to forward calls on My GS4 but I do not have an Additional Settings option under my call settings.'
Unfortunately, the "Additional Settings" option under Call Settings is carrier network dependent. Some carriers don't support this feature, so if the "Additional Settings" option is not available on your phone, you will not be able to forward your calls.
Mine does not show Additional Settings. It shows Call Accessories.
According to Samsung Manual - the same manual you can download from their website (the same manual you received as a hard copy with your package), this is a pre-installed setting for you to manage calls and forward them to another number if you are unable to answer the call. There are some network carriers that limit their phone settings to stop customers from changing their caller ID and forwarding that way. One good example - Verizon, the said company has the Call Forwarding disabled or they didn't include it on the phone in an attempt to avoid users changing their caller ID and then using Call Forward. The company also omitted other features that AT&T keeps on their phones.
You may need to call your network carrier to inquire about settings that are not present on your phone, get a list of them and become informed. What you can try is download an application that has the same feature as the native Call Forwarding. There is an application called: Call Forwarding. Simply install it and launch the application. The setup of the app is very easy.

What if I only want to forward ONE number?
It's fine to have one phone number to place in your call forwarding option to forward an unanswered call to, or if the phone is busy, etc. If, on the other hand, you mean that you want to select only one phone number to be forwarded to another phone number you've set, unfortunately, you cannot select one or several specific phone numbers to be forwarded, as all the options on the S4 forward All numbers. Call your network carrier to inquire if they do have such offer where you are able to forward calls from a specific number or numbers.
Does this solution work on Cricket Samsung S4?
Does this "call forward if no answer" option work on Cricket Samsung S4?
This feature is carrier network dependent. To see if your device supports this feature, please do the following.
- Go to your apps list then tap on "Phone" to open it.
- Press the "Menu" button on your phone.
- Select "Call Settings" on the pop-up menu.
- If there is an "Additional Settings" under Call Settings, your phone supports call forwarding.
- To set-up call forwarding when calls are unanswered on your phone, tap on Call Forwarding.
- Tap on "Forward When Unanswered".
- Type-in the number you'd like your calls to be forwarded to, when you are unable to answer them.
- Tap on Enable.
- That's it. Your calls will now be forwarded when they go unanswered.
When I go to call forwarding, there is no activate or deactivate. It just shows alternate number to call, if I push cancel, it says it is unable to deactivate call diverting when busy, unsupported by operator.
I have turned the phone OFF and turned it back ON, I have taken the SIM card out and put it back in, as sometimes it tells me there is a SIM card error - also when trying to turn OFF call forwarding. This all started when I was unable to call out yesterday and although people could call me, I couldn't hear them, and a message would come across screen saying Call Forwarding Activated
