I updated Galaxy S7 Edge, upon completion it is asking for a password instead of fingerprint. I've forgotten password, this is my 3rd day of trying to guess what password could have used. Ugh

Delete all your fingerprints and start from new. This time save your password somewhere in your home for when a problem arises.

Its been 5 days now and I am worried ill have to do a reset..loosing all my work contacts.. I've tried entering via Google but didn't connect this phone to Google just my tablet.. Very strange occurrence as my fingerprint is not being accepted?

All of a sudden, my fingerprint is simply not accepted. It is a very unusual happening as I have been using my phone without problems for the last year. I have tried: Switching phone off, restarting and trying. opened twice but now not opening. I think it was caused by: Absolutely no idea

Clean the screen with rubbing alcohol. This is probably your issue since the scanner has had no issues before.

Galaxy S6 does not recognize my thumbprint and it no longer allows me to type in an alternate password. I am down to 2 more log on attempts. I have tried: Tried thumbprint 13 times, powered phone on and off, restarted it. It always goes back to the log on screen and won't accept an alternate password.. I think it was caused by: I was being prompted for an upgrade and have been postponing it until today. Once I allowed the upgrade the Alternate Password feature went away. I've had the phone for 3 weeks and it never has recognized the thumbprint but it did allow the Alternate Password screen. Now I don't even have the Alternate Password screen.

You are going to have to hard reset the phone because this has happened to many others when they received the update. Before you allow another update you should always delete your fingerprint scans and turn off the lock to avoid situations like this.
