Set up Do Not Disturb on the iPhone 4s
Edited by Kara, Crystal, Eng
Hi, you're watching VisiHow. Today I will show you how to set up the Do Not Disturb Mode on the iPhone 4S.
Steps
1
There are two ways to do this
.
The first way is to go to the quick menu by sliding up from the bottom of the screen. When you press the button with the moon you will turn on Do Not Disturb.
2
This means, depending on your settings, while being in Do Not Disturb mode, when your phone receives phone calls or messages or emails, it won't vibrate or make any sounds
.
It will not disturb you. To set up Do Not Disturb mode, go to the Settings. It is a gray icon with gears.
3
Scroll down to Do Not Disturb, which has the same moon icon
.
Tap on that.
4
Here you can choose for Do Not Disturb to be turned on manually, or automatically
.
I'm going to go with manual. When Do Not Disturb is enabled calls and alerts that arrive while locked will be silenced, and a moon icon will appear in the status bar.
5
We can turn on the schedule and set up the time
.
Do Not Disturb mode will appear on the scheduled time. For example, if you go to bed at 9 o'clock and you don't want to be disturbed until 8 in the morning, You would tap the box with the times to adjust it
6
You would slide the times to adjust it, then go back
.
Now it is set up to turn on between 9pm and 8am. People are still able to call me and I will see the missed calls and messages when I check the phone, but they will not wake me up if I'm asleep.
7
You can also set exceptions for people
.
For example, Favorites. You can go to your contacts and mark specific contacts as favorites. You can also set No-One and Everyone, which would be kind of silly. I will leave it on Favorites and go back.
8
Now we have the repeated calls option, I'm going to turn it on
.
When enabled, a second call from the same person within three minutes will not be silenced. Basically, when you turn this mode on and someone calls you, it will not notify you. If they call again within 3 minutes, you will be notified. This is usually for emergencies.
9
We have just set up the Do Not Disturb mode on the iPhone 4S
.
Now when I leave the settings, I can swipe up for my quick menu and turn it on or off.
10
Thank you for watching VisiHow
