Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to set the default download location in the Google Chrome web browser on a Windows 7 computer.
Steps
1
Start by opening the Google Chrome browser
.
You can double-click the icon or click it once if it's pinned to the taskbar.
2
Once the window opens, go to the settings
.
To go to the settings, click the menu button in the top right corner.
3
4
Once you're in the settings, scroll down and click "Show advanced settings"
.
This will open the advanced settings.
5
Scroll down and locate the "Downloads" section
.
In this case, the download location is C:\Users\Creatura\Downloads.
6
Change the download location by clicking "Change" to the right of the download location
.
A new window will open.
7
Select any folder on the computer
.
For this example, I'm going to set it to "Desktop".
8
Once the location has been selected, click "OK" at the bottom
.
9
You can also check the box next to "Ask where to save each file before downloading"
.
If that is checked, it will ask where to save anything before it is downloaded.
