Hello and thank you for watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to set your Instagram account to private, and unlock it so that it is publicly viewable on your LG L70. To begin, we should access the home screen by pressing the power button on the top right-hand side.

Swipe in any direction to unlock the phone

From the home screen, we can see the Instagram icon is already added for easy access

If the icon is not located on the home screen, we can access Instagram from the Apps folder
.
It is a gray box with a bunch of white squares inside of it, labeled "Apps".

We can then swipe to the left or right in the Apps menu until we've located the icon for Instagram

The icon looks like a camera. Tap that one time to open the application. We will see 5 icons across the bottom.

The house icon will bring us to the Instagram feed

The magnifying glass icon will allow us to search

The camera icon will allow us to add photos and videos

Across from our Instagram name, in the blue bar, there are 3 dots

We need to tap those for additional options.

Scroll down to the "Private Account" option
.
When this is activated, we will have to approve who views our photos. They will need to send a request, and we will have to say yes or no to that request. To turn this option on, we can slide over this radio button to the right. There will then be a blue background and people will have to send a request.

To remove that function and allow people to publicly view our photos and account, we can slide the button over to the left

When we do that, we get a pop up menu that says "Anyone will be able to see your photos and videos on Instagram
.
You will no longer need to approve followers." We can select "OK".

Now we can see that the "Private Account" option is turned off because it is gray

Anyone is able to view our photos.

When we're happy with those changes, we can go back by tapping the white arrow in the top left-hand corner
