- 6We are looking for the first option, 'Password, Set or change the password for the secure box.' The secure Box is the area of your Messages section where you can keep secure messages. This is where a password is entered to read them; this keeps it private so no one else can access these messages. If you have not set up a password already, then this is the area you can do that or change an existing password. Press down on 'Password'.Scroll down until you find 'SETTINGS' in bold.
- 7If you are setting this up for the first time, then a Password is entered and then confirmed. The box must be pressed to bring up the keypad for text to be entered. Once the new or amended passwords are entered then press 'OK'This will require the Old Password to be entered because there is already a password setup.

Hi, I forgot my password, my phone is HTC Desire 700?
Hi, I can't remember the old password, can I reset the old password?
If you forgot the old password, then there is nothing you can do to reset the password. However, there is one solution that might work, besides guessing the password, which involves your rooting the device. This will void the warranty, and it is not guaranteed to work. Try it at your own risk!
To root your device:
- 1Navigate to http://www.htcdev.com
- 2Click "Unlock Bootloader".
- 3Click "Get Started".
- 4Click the drop-down menu.
- 5Click "All other supported models".
- 6Log on to the Website (you may need to create a profile) by clicking "Register Now".
- 7Follow the screen instructions,
- 8
- 9Click "Download for Android".
- 10Move the APK file to the phone and install iRoot.
- 11Run iRoot.
- 12Follow the screen instructions.
To find your Secure Box password:
- 1Download some file explorer like X-plore.
- 2Open X-plore.
- 3Go to the following file location:
- /data/data/com.Android.MMS/shared_prefs/com.Android.MMS.categoryInfo.xml.
- 4Open the file to find the password or just delete the file to reset the password.
How can I locate the secure box password on HTC one A9?
I download the X-plore app on my HTC one A9 in order to locate this file "data/data/com.Android.MMS/shared_prefs/com.Android.MMS.categoryInfo.xml." but I can't seem to locate it on the x-plore app or any other file exploring app
