Edited by Thor, Robert, Eng
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to set a ringtone for Twitter notifications on the HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards
.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and multiple icons at the bottom. It is one of these icons that we will access to open up the applications folder.
3
Tap the icon that looks like a grid of white dots, that is located at the bottom of the screen in the middle to open the applications folder
.
4
Find the Twitter application, and tap on it once to open the application
.
The Twitter application has a blue background with a white bird on it, with the word "Twitter" underneath it. Your Twitter application may be in a different position in this folder, therefore you will need to find it.
5
Now we need to find the settings menu, which we can access by tapping on the three vertical dots icon located in the top-right corner of the screen
.
This will bring up a new menu.
6
Tap on "Settings", which is located at the very bottom of the list
.
7
Now in this menu, we need to tap on our username, which in this example is "@VisiHow"
.
In your phone, it will display your username. This will open up a new menu.
8
Now tap on "Mobile notifications"
.
9
Scroll down to near the bottom, and tap on "Ringtone; Set your notification ringtone"
.
This will show us the ringtone currently selected. In this example, "Default notification sound" is selected and is indicated by the blue circle on the left side being highlighted.
10
We can hear what any ringtone sounds like by selecting it by tapping in it once
.
In this example, we'll choose "Iris". This can be useful to do because we have lots of notifications from many applications on our HTC One M8, and if we can choose a distinct sound, when we hear it we'll know it was the Twitter application that is sending us a notification.
11
Tap on "OK" located in the bottom-right corner to confirm the ringtone selected
.
As we can see, the ringtone we've selected has now been set.
12
This concludes our tutorial on how to set a ringtone for Twitter notifications on the HTC One M8
.
