You can use your Samsung Galaxy S4 to watch TV shows, and then continue watching it on your supported TV. This is possible due to the WatchON feature of Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung WatchON allows you to discover, access and watch TV shows and movies on your own time. A Samsung account is required for you to have access to certain features on WatchON.
Open WatchON on Samsung Galaxy S4
- 1Go to your home menu by pressing on the Home button (lower-middle button).
- 2From your home menu tap on the "Apps" icon.
- 3Locate the WatchON icon and tap on it to open the application.You will now be on the applications page.
- 4WatchON will now open on your Samsung Galaxy S4.
Setup WatchON on Samsung Galaxy S4
- 1Begin by tapping on the "Select Your Country/Region" button on the initial page.If this is your first time opening the application, WatchON will guide you on setting up the application.
Turn Samsung Galaxy S4 Into a Remote Control Using WatchON
You can use Samsung Galaxy S4 as a remote control for your TV, DVR and other supported electronic devices. To do this, follow the procedures below:
- 1From your WatchON application, tap on the remote control icon.
- 2Tap on "Set Up Now" to continue or "Cancel" to stop the set up.A prompt will show saying you can use your phone to control other electronic devices.
- 3If you cannot see your brand on the list, tap on the "Show Other Brands" button. If you are using a projector, tap on the "I Have a Projector" button.If you tapped on "Set Up Now," you will be shown a list of TV brands.
- 4After choosing the correct device, tap on the Power button on your phone's screen to turn on your TV or projector.
- 5If your TV usually only turns on after holding down the 'Power' button for five seconds on your actual remote, then it will be the same with your phone. If after a few seconds there's no response from your TV, tap on "No, Test Next Code" and "Send This Code Again." If your TV turns on, tap on "Yes, This Code Works."If your TV does not turn on after pressing the Power button, make sure you have given enough time for your TV to boot.
- 6Tap on the "Set-Top Box" button or "My Samsung TV," depending on your TV source.You will be taken to the "Select Your Channel Source" page.
- 7You are done configuring your phone as a remote control for your electronic devices.
