Set Up Do Not Disturb Mode on Your iPhone 6
Edited by Kara, Leomar Umpad, Eng
Hi, you are watching VisiHow. My name is Kara and in this is video, I will show you how to set up a do not disturb mode on iPhone 6.
Steps
1
Before we activate that mode, let's see what it actually is
.
We have to go to the Settings - a gray gears icon.
2
Here is the main menu for Settings in the very first
.
3
4
5
In the second section on the bottom, the third one is the Do Not Disturb
.
Let's tap on that option.
6
I can set up a manual to not disturb so I can choose what do I want and what do I not want.
7
8
I can setup Scheduled On
.
9
In this case, it's asking me what time I want to be on "not disturb mode"
.
I'll choose from 10 to 7 as it is setup by default.
10
You are allowed to change it
.
For example, I set Do Not Disturb from 8 in the evening to 10 in the morning.
11
So in that time period, from 8 in the evening until 10 in the morning, nobody will able to access me simply because I will not be hearing ringtones, or vibrations, or phone calls, or SMS on any notifications
.
I will be leaving my peaceful life sleeping without being disturb by a phone.
12
There are always exceptions to the rules
.
So here is the exception and Allow Calls From.
13
I can allow phone calls from Favorites, I can allow phone calls from no one or anybody can call me while the do not disturb mode is on but I think it defeats that purpose of the mode itself
.
So let's just tap the Favorites - only Favorite. My contacts can access me when I sleep or when I am away.
14
You could have watched me adding contacts to the Favorite list on one of my previous videos on VisiHow
.
You are welcome to search for it.
15
Next thing - Repeated Calls
.
When this mode is activated, the second call from the same person within 3 minutes will be silence. This means that if a person keeps calling me, I just will not hear it. Anyone repeats call so let's turn it off.
16
You can choose "Always" or "only when the iPhone is locked". I prefer Always. While I play candy crush and while I am putting the kids to sleep, I do not want any sounds to wake them out.
17
So do not disturb button is on
.
Let's say I decided not to schedule it. I will do it Manually.
18
When you tap Manual that means that I will be able to activate or deactivate the mode by using my fingers every time
.
19
So now, when we set up the mode itself; when we tune up the Do Not Disturb Mode, I will show you how to access it and how to activate it in a very fast way
.
You just need to have the pop-up menu by sliding from bottom to the top.
20
On the top menu bar, you can see the fourth icon with a little crescent - semi-moon as my son calls it
.
Tap on the icon and Do Not Disturb is on.
21
As you can see here, on the little tiny bar sign bar right at the top of your screen, you can see a little crescent sign next to the battery, and your service provider, and WiFi and clock
.
Right on the top is a little white tiny crescent which represents that the Do Not Disturb mode is being activated.
22
It's the same thing. Slide up and turn the crescent off.
23
As you can see, Do Not Disturb mode is off
.
24
Thanks for watching VisiHow
.
