Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to set up a four-digit PIN to exit the Kid Mode application on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen, with icons at the bottom.

   To find the settings menu, swipe the notification panel down

   Start right at the top of the screen and swipe downwards. The notification panel will appear.

   Look for the white cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   This is our settings icon. Press down on it and it will open up our settings menu, labelled with the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

   Scroll down until we find the "PERSONAL" section, highlighted with a gray bar

   Find the option called "Security" that has the padlock icon

   Press "Security" to open the "Screen Security" menu.

   Second from the top, we will find "Kid Mode"

   Its description says: "Give a child limited access to your phone." Press down on this option to open the "Kid Mode" menu.

   Select the first option by pressing down on "Parent Dashboard"

   Its description says: "Add profiles and access all features". This option allows us to enter the Parent Dashboard.

   Press the white cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   This opens the Parent Dashboard settings menu.

    Press down on the "Child Lock" option

    It has an icon of a yellow padlock with a person inside.

    Select the bottom option that says "4 digit PIN"

    .

    There are different ways that we can create a child lock. When we want to exit kid mode, we would have to do one of these things. This stops the child from getting into the HTC One M8 and using all the applications and having access to all the information and elements of the phone. Press down on the circle next to the "4 digit PIN" option.

    A warning will appear

    .

    It says, "WARNING: If you forget your PIN you may NOT be able to exit Kid Mode." Here is where we can provide an emergency exit, which is a good idea, otherwise we may never be able to exit Kid Mode. Press down on that box, which puts a blue tick inside it, then press "Continue".
