Edited by Thor, Courtney, Eng
Hello, welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how you can select a Google search language on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button
.
This button is located on top of the device.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe upwards
.

4
To bring down the Notification panel, hold down right at the top of the screen, then proceed to swipe downwards
.
5
Now we can see that the Notification has appeared
.
6
We are now looking for the white cog icon in the top right-hand corner, tap this one time
.
This is our Settings icon.
7
This will open up our Settings menu
.
We can see it says the word "Settings", in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
8
We are now going to scroll down until we find the section labeled "PERSONAL"
.
We can see it will say the word "PERSONAL", inside of a gray bar at the top of this section.
9
We will now tap on the second option down, labeled "Accounts & sync"
.
We can see an icon to the left of these words, featuring a gray circle with two gray arrows surrounding it, forming another circle.
10
Now we are going to be in the "Accounts & sync" menu
.
11
We now want to tap on the first option under "MANAGE ACCOUNTS", labeled "Google"
.
12
We have now entered the options menu for "Google"
.
13
Under the "SETTINGS AND PRIVACY" section, we want to tap on the first option down, labeled "Search"
.
14
From here we will tap on the second option under "Search & Now", labeled with the words "Search language"
.
15
Now we can see that there are a vast number of languages that we may choose from
.
16
The language at the top, written inside of the second blue bar, is the language that we currently have selected
.
In our case, we have "English (UK)" selected.
17
On this menu, we can scroll down to look for the language we would like to use
.
It is important for us to remember that there are two different sections to this. There is the search language, and there is the voice search language. Some of the languages on this list do not support the voice search, so it is important for us to remember this.
18
For an example, we will press down on the option labeled "Espanol (EE.UU.)
19
A bar will appear, letting us know that our language for voice commands has also been changed
.
20
We will now press down on a less common language, in our case we will select "Ede Yoruba"
.
21
As we can see, a bar has not appeared informing us that voice command language has been changed
.
This means that our voice command language has not been changed. Selecting this option will only change the search language.
22
Lastly, we will now tap on "English (UK)" to set it as our search language
.
23
We can see the gray bar has appeared again, letting us know that our voice command language has also been changed
.
24
We will note that once an option is selected, a blue checkmark will appear to the right of that option
.
It will also be present in the second blue bar from the top, as we noted earlier.
25
This then concludes our tutorial, on how to select the Google search language on an HTC One M8
.
