Edited by Thor, Sid Bedekar, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to set the extreme power saving mode to automatically turn on when the battery reaches a certain level when using a HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone On by pressing the 'Power' button located on top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated, you will see the 'Lock' screen
.
To unlock the phone, press and hold down on the screen and swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, we will be taken to the 'Home' screen.
3
On the 'Home' screen, we need to find the 'Settings' icon and to do that, we need to swipe down the 'Notifications' panel
.
4
Starting at the top, press down on top of the screen and swipe down
.
This is going to reveal the 'Notifications' panel.
5
Here, we need to find the 'Settings' icon and this is located in the top right hand corner
.
You can see that there is a white cog icon. This is the 'Settings' icon.
6
Press down on it and this is going to open up the 'Settings' menu
.
7
Once the 'Settings' menu has opened, scroll down and make sure we are in the 'Phone' section
.
It should say the word "Phone:" here in this grey bar.
8
Scroll down until you find the 'Power' option
.
The 'Power' section is located here. You can see it says the word "Power" and next to it, it has the 'Power' icon which is a battery with a lightning bolt inside.
9
Press down on the word "Power" and that is going to open up our 'Power' menu
.
10
Here, we can see it says, "Extreme power saving mode"
.
Look for this option and then press down on the words "Extreme power saving mode" and it is going to bring up a new option.
11
At the top here, it says, "Automatically turn on extreme power saving mode when battery life is below the level I specify"
.
If we select this, once the battery reaches a certain point or level, it is going to automatically turn On the 'Extreme power saving mode'.
12
If this is what we want and we do, press down on this box here on the right hand side of the screen
.
13
Press down and now you can see that there is a check inside with a green background
.
Now, the HTC One M8 is automatically going to turn On the 'Extreme power saving mode' when the battery life reaches a certain level.
14
Now we need to select the level
.
There are three options here: there is "20%", "10%" or "5%". We can choose whichever option we want. You can see right now, the "10%" is selected because it has a green circle inside the circle on the far right of the screen. That means that it is selected.
15
If we press down on any of the other circles, it is going to move the green circle and it is going to select that option
.
Now it is "5%".
16
This shows you that you can choose whichever option you want to enable 'Extreme power saving mode'. Be warned that this power saving mode is very extreme. It really reduces how you can use your HTC One M8. It really limits you so maybe 20% is quite high but it obviously depends on what you are doing and where you are. Make sure that you have a look at the 'Extreme power saving mode'. See exactly what it does and then you can make your decision. You can actually find a video on how to setup the 'Extreme power saving mode' on this website so search for that.
17
Make your choice and make sure that this box is checked
.
This will automatically turn 'Extreme power saving mode' On.
18
If you don't want it to be On, then just press this box again and once the check is gone, the phone will not automatically turn the 'Extreme power saving mode' On
.
19
This concludes our tutorial on how to set the 'Extreme power saving mode' to automatically turn On when the battery reaches a certain level when using a HTC One M8
.
